JOB
Summary:
The Estimator Coordinator, under the direction of the Lead Cost Estimator, is responsible for assisting in the collection and analysis of data to assess the manufacturing feasibility, time, money, materials, and labor required to manufacture parts.
DUTIES /
Responsibilities:
Assist the Lead Cost Estimator in all phases of the estimating process from receipt of customer data, to facilitating all internal processing and capacity requirements, securing all required tooling, equipment, material, and external service quotes.
Responsible for the management, distribution, coordination, and storage of internal and external customer data transfers.
Populate established, detailed spreadsheets with data gathered during the estimating process and assist in the calculation of projected costs of proposed projects using company-approved formulas under the direct supervision of the Lead Cost Estimator.
Complete Customer cost breakdown forms and build estimating templates to support the estimating process.
Support the development and improvement of estimation methods and procedures related to quotes per the APQP process.
Maintain Company approved vendor list for tooling, equipment, and outside services.
Participate in continuous improvement efforts as they apply to lean manufacturing and cost saving initiatives.
Assist Lead Cost Estimator with pertinent tasks as required.
Adhere to and support company policies and procedures, including the Company quality management system and corporate health & safety regulations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
3 -5 years administrative experience in Manufacturing.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings / prints is desired.
Knowledge of various metal types and grades is desired.
Flexible and responsive in a collaborative environment.
Strong organizational and data management skills.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
PLEX experience is desired.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities.
